Tracking the Tigers
Inside spring training camp:

Honoring Kell: The Tigers will fly the flag at Marchant Stadium at half-staff tonight in memory of Detroit Hall of Fame third baseman George Kell, who broadcast their games on TV and radio for 37 years. Kell died Monday at his home in Swifton, Ark. He was 86.

WBC players work out: Leyland kept his four recently returned World Baseball Classic position players in Lakeland rather than make the 4-hour round-trip bus ride Wednesday to play the New York Mets. Outfielders Curtis Granderson, Carlos Guillen and Magglio Ordonez worked out with outfield coach Andy Van Slyke, and first baseman Miguel Cabrera joined them to take batting practice with hitting coach Lloyd McClendon. Leyland said they would be in the lineup tonight.
