The Boston Red Sox have finally benched slugger David Ortiz. 

Ichiro Suzuki hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the sixth inning and connected twice overall, and the Seattle Mariners rallied from four runs down to beat the Boston Red Sox, playing without a benched David Ortiz, 5-4 on Friday night. 

Many believe Ichiro Suzuki is so good, he can hit home runs whenever he wants or needs to. 

David Ortiz sat silently at his locker, fiddling with an iPod.

--2B Dustin Pedroia was back in the starting lineup after missing two games with a strained right groin. 

It appears that the baseball gods are smiling on the Red Sox and their schedule this season. 

--DH David Ortiz has gone 144 consecutive at-bats without hitting a home run and is only one at-bat shy of the longest home run drought of his major league career.
