Hey all, Mark Macyk here to take you to the second game of the first Red Sox/Yankes series at The New Stadium. The Sox won 6-4 last night, upping their season record against the Bombers to 4-0. The forecast calls for more rain, but it looks like theyre going to try to play. Itll be a marquee pitching matchup between two guys the opposing fan bases love to hate: Joba Chamberlain (1-0, 3.13 ERA) and Josh Beckett (2-2, 7.22 ERA).
Luckily for the Yanks , AL batting leader Kevin Youkilis will sit out the game, presumably hiding in an underground bunker from Chamberlains fastball. As most know, in ancient times Youkilis was the Greek God of Yankee killing. For his career hes at .313 with five home runs and 35 RBIs against them and in four games this season, his on base percentage is .556.
As reported by Kat on the post below, the Yanks will be without Jorge Posada for the next few weeks. Jose Molina will do the catching tonight.
Chamberlain is coming off his best start of the season, a seven-inning three-hitter in Detroit last week. Tonight, weather permitting, hell show if he can keep it up against the BoSox. Well get this started at 7:05. Stay tuned.
