Apr. 23, 2009 (Newsday delivered by Newstex ) --
It's back on with Yankees-Red Sox . Always a highlight of the season when these two teams play. And this time, the highlights seem to be beginning even before the series. David Ortiz warned Joba Chamberlain not to throw at Red Sox hitters, particularly Kevin Youkilis, when Ortiz talked to reporters yesterday. I kinda doubt we'll see Chamberlain hit/throw at anyone, but the Red Sox would likely retaliate if he does based on the early chatter. Chien-Ming Wang got his pitch count up to 91 today, which is good. I still think he's likely to spend a brief stint on the disabled list. Phil Hughes is pitching very well at Triple-A and he could certainly pitch Tuesday.
Alex Rodriguez continues to ramp up his rehab. I bet he'll be into a game within a few days down in the minor leagues, and maybe back a week after that w/the Yankees.
