Red Sox Fans May Now Enjoy Neil Diamond in Live Form

The grand concert at the ballpark is not a new phenomenon. The Beatles rocked Shea in ‘65. (Aside: after seeing footage of that show, how could you possibly enjoy yourself there? Yeah, it’s but the screaming .. oh, the screaming.) There are other examples throughout recent history, ones in which you can have fun looking up on your own. (Hint: try Wikipedia!)
So it is within that spirit that the Red Sox are bringing Neil Diamond to Fenway for a concert August 23, as part of Diamond’s 2008 World Tour. As you may know, “Sweet Caroline” is played during the eight inning at Fenway — it is also played at approximately 2.3 million bars across America at 11 p.m. EST — so think of the synergy here, people.
You know what would be hilarious? If Diamond didn’t play “Sweet Caroline.” I’m a real sucker for letting 40,000 people down. Oh who am I kidding … SWEET CAROLINE, BUM BUM BUM. GOOD TIMES NEVER SEEMED SO GOOD! SO GOOD! SO GOOD!
